Ensuring continued connectivity with your in-house diagnostic equipment

Being cloud-based, IDEXX Animana allows you to focus on patient care rather than server maintenance. Unfortunately, Animana must rely on two small, locally installed applications to ensure connectivity with your in-house diagnostic equipment. With time and data security at a premium, these are essential to keep up to date.

The following article explains what these applications do, how to update them, and what to do if you need further help.

The DICOM uploader

If your practice has digital X-ray equipment, at least one computer in your practice will have the Animana DICOM uploader installed. Animana uses this application to automatically upload DICOM images into Animana. Images are accessed in Animana via Worklist> Digital Xray in the menu. The steps below will walk you through how to update the uploader.

The Animana WebAgent

To communicate with your in-house analysers, Animana uses an application called “WebAgent”. Results are accessed in Animana via Worklist> Lab Results in the menu. The steps below will walk you through how to update the WebAgent.

  • have appropriate permissions to uninstall, and install software on your computer,
