Animana Release Highlights: Version 7.12

This version of Animana contains several bug fixes, security improvements, and behind-the-scenes enhancements. It also includes the following changes:

A refreshed client file!

We’re excited to introduce a wholly updated client file that adds lots of new functionality. One of the first things you may notice is that the screen loads slightly differently and may appear slower in some longer client files. However, this speed sacrifice means that the new screen is more stable, and we can add exciting changes, such as the new search functionality, which searches across the whole client file and works in conjunction with the filters.

The new page also brings a modern look and feel and improved accessibility.

Other changes include:

  • Filter changes now appear without a time-consuming screen refresh
  • Invoice and appointment rows now show the patient’s name and can be used in the new client file search
  • Pagination has been added for files with more than 300 rows
  • Print actions open in the same browser tab
  • Date formats align with your computer settings
  • Additional error messages and other bug fixes

Change FAQ

  • Why did you change the page?
    • The new page addresses many feature requests and provides a more secure platform for future functionality. With the European Accessibility Act being implemented soon, we’re also keen to make Animana an accessible platform.
  • Will you bring functionality in the patient file to this new client file?
    • Bringing patient file features, such as button customisation and date filters, is not planned for the next iteration of the client file. However, the new screen does allow for those changes in future.
  • Will you add functionality in the new client file to the patient file?
    • We’d love to add the new design and search functionality to the patient file, and we will look to address this (and other requests) in a later phase.
  • Why is the page loading slowly?
    • We appreciate that in some cases, such as large files or on slower computers, the new client file can load slower and cause frustration. As part of our development process, this was tested extensively. Partly, this speed difference is due to how the page is loaded – the new screen cannot be interacted with until it’s fully loaded. We hope that any slowness encountered is offset by the additional functionality, such as search, which would not be possible otherwise.

Improved patient identification workflow

We have revised the way patient identifications are managed in Animana. Our new patient identification screen brings usability and efficiency improvements and allows for future support for external partners.

Here are some of the key changes of the new patient identification management screen;

  • validation, including a 15-digit check for microchips,
  • barcode-reader compatibility,
  • new “Administered by” field,
  • in-line editing,
  • refreshed UI and enhanced accessibility,
  • alerts to prevent data loss.

Added Application Programming Interface (API) capabilities

The Animana API makes it possible for other programs to interact with Animana. We’re continually working on our API to enhance the capabilities to securely exchange data between Animana and other applications, allowing us to work with other partners. In this release, we are adding more data points for external parties to access client data from Animana.
