How we’re making Animana better for you – December 2020 update
2020 was a year of significant uncertainty for all of us. In both our professional and private lives, we saw everything change. With the imposed restrictions on travelling and visiting practices, as a development team, we had to find new ways to interact with you to better understand your needs. With a lot of you, we engaged via telephone calls or conference calls. Your time and patience were precious in allowing us to see how you were using Animana and how we could make it better for you. Those interactions not only help us to develop new features like IDEXX Vet Connect PLUS Reference Lab automated billing or the Client Portal but also enhancements that improve the usability of Animana like a tooltip to display the name of the scheduled staff member or a better indication of incoming messages. Still, we wanted to be able to share more with you and this is how this blog was born. We look forward to continuing to bring you updates next year on all the things we are working on.
May 2021 bring positive outcomes to all! We leave you with some more items we are looking into for 2021.

Making Tax Digital
The Making Tax Digital programme in the United Kingdom introduced changes to the tax system to make tax administration more effective, efficient and easier to get tax right. While Animana is compliant today with the programme (using our Microsoft Excel export functionality), we know that integration between Animana and software accounting packages will make it not only easier to comply with the requirements, but also improve the financial management of your practice.
That’s why we’re working on an integration solution that in time, will support the leading accounting software packages available. Right now, we’re working with Sage to the integration with Sage Business Cloud. The initial integration scope aims to support both the submission of VAT via Sage and financial management reporting. We’re working hard to ensure its both easy to set up and possible to use whenever your practice is ready, regardless of when your financial year starts.
